Alex Pereira is being backed by analyst Chael Sonnen to compete in a championship contest at the UFC's historic White House card, potentially moving up to heavyweight. The light-heavyweight champion has not fought since reclaiming his 205-pound title against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320 in October 2025, stopping Ankalaev in the first round. Pereira has recently revealed a weight of 242 pounds on social media, suggesting interest in competing at heavyweight. The proposed White House card would feature multiple title bouts, though no fights have been officially confirmed. Pereira has already captured UFC titles at middleweight and light-heavyweight during his tenure with the promotion.
