Paulo Costa expressed strong dissatisfaction after Josh Hewitt received two performance bonuses while Costa received none. Costa argued his finish of an undefeated Russian opponent with a 16-0 record was more deserving than Hewitt's heavyweight bout with Curtis Blaydes. The Brazilian stated he was so frustrated that he contacted Dana White and Hunter Campbell about what he considers an unfair decision. Costa claimed he beat his opponent dominantly over three rounds with a stoppage finish. He expressed hope that UFC leadership would reconsider the bonus allocation, calling it a mistake.
