Paulo Costa expressed strong dissatisfaction that Josh Hewitt received a double bonus while Costa received nothing despite his finish over Aleksandr Kopylov. Costa argued that his performance against the previously undefeated Russian fighter (16-0) deserved recognition, as he stopped the fight early after three rounds of heavy strikes. The Brazilian was so upset he messaged Dana White and Hunter Campbell directly. Costa stated he believes his knockout victory was more deserving of the performance bonus than Hewitt's heavyweight fight with Curtis Blaydes. He expressed hope that UFC leadership will reconsider the decision, calling it unfair and saying it made him feel terrible.
