Islam Makhachev has expressed frustration with what he calls fabricated stories from Ilia Topuria's camp. Makhachev claims he received a call and accepted a fight at the White House event, but the next day was told Topuria requested an unrealistic sum of money. According to Makhachev, the UFC rejected Topuria's request and Topuria then withdrew from the fight. Makhachev says even Topuria's manager confirmed this version of events. He called on Topuria to stop talking, saying that in every new interview Topuria tells a different story. Makhachev insists Topuria pulled out and knows it.
