In an interview with Adam Zubairaev, Hamzat Chimaev addressed fan speculation about his upcoming fight with Sean Strickland. When asked if he would refuse to release a submission hold on Strickland and potentially force security to intervene, Chimaev clarified he has no intention of killing his opponent, joking that doing so would be haram (forbidden). He explained that while security would not allow him to kill Strickland in the cage anyway, he respects the sport. Chimaev drew a contrast to street fighting, saying this is a sporting competition inside the Octagon.
