Azamat Bostanov, now a fighter manager, shared memories from UFC 223 in Brooklyn eight years ago when Khabib Nurmagomedov won the UFC title. After Bostanov interviewed Artem Lobov following the infamous altercation with Khabib's team, manager Ali Abdel-Aziz told him to stay away from their camp. However, Khabib intervened, saying "This is our guy, he's just doing his job," and remained welcoming throughout the weekend. Bostanov recalls how 20-30 Dagestanis gathered at the hotel ready to protect Khabib from potential Conor McGregor provocations. Despite exhaustion after winning the belt, Khabib took time to greet fans, pose for photos, and speak with well-wishers who packed his hotel floor and room. Years later, Khabib remained the same approachable person, even offering Bostanov a ride when spotting him on a Moscow street.
