Azamat Bostanov, now a fighter manager, shared detailed memories of being in Brooklyn for Khabib Nurmagomedov's UFC 223 championship victory eight years ago. He recounted how Khabib's manager Ali Abdel-Aziz initially told him to stay away from their team after Bostanov interviewed Artem Lobov following the infamous confrontation, but Khabib intervened, calling Bostanov "our guy" and saying he was just doing his work. Bostanov described the chaotic post-fight scene at the hotel with massive crowds, and how despite being exhausted, Khabib took photos, thanked people for their support, and spent time talking with strangers who wanted to congratulate him. He also recalled a chance encounter with Khabib about a year later when the champion stopped his vehicle to say hello and offer a ride. Bostanov noted that despite becoming a major star, Khabib remained the same friendly, approachable person who always found time for brief conversations.
