ACA president Magomed Bibulatov gave a candid interview about doping control within the promotion, revealing that more fighters use performance-enhancing drugs than compete clean. He stated that fighters accepting bouts on short notice are typically clean because they haven't had time to use banned substances. Bibulatov explained that doping control is expensive and would ideally require cooperation between all Russian promotions, though he considers that unlikely. The league gave fighters six months to clean their systems and allowed certain therapeutic medications, but testing revealed ongoing widespread violations. Bibulatov is considering year-long suspensions for violators but acknowledged the financial challenges of maintaining a comprehensive testing program, noting that short-notice replacement fighters tend to be the cleanest athletes on ACA cards.
