Vadim Nemkov disclosed that kidney problems severely impacted his performance in his first fight against Corey Anderson in spring 2022. The Russian fighter experienced dramatic energy loss after the first round in both sparring and competition, which he couldn't initially explain. After extensive medical consultation, doctors identified kidney issues related to severe weight cuts as the root cause. Nemkov found an over-the-counter medication that resolved the problem and continues to use it. He has completely eliminated sports supplements including creatine, protein, and BCAAs from his regimen to reduce kidney stress, relying only on vitamins, omega oils, fish oil, magnesium, and vitamin B. Nemkov reports feeling no worse without the supplements.
