Vadim Nemkov has disclosed that kidney problems in 2022 caused severe cardio issues that affected his first fight with Corey Anderson and his training camps. The Russian fighter would feel fine in the first round of sparring but completely exhaust by the second round, with the same pattern occurring in his bout with Anderson where he won the first round but had no energy in the second. After extensive medical consultations, doctors in Thailand identified the problem and found a legal pharmaceutical solution that restored his health. Nemkov has since completely eliminated sports supplements from his regimen, including creatine, protein, and BCAAs, as they place additional strain on the kidneys. He now only takes vitamins including omega-3, fish oil, magnesium, and vitamin B, and says he doesn't feel worse without the supplements as long as he maintains proper nutrition and sleep.
