Vadim Nemkov has disclosed that kidney problems in 2022 severely impacted his cardio, causing him to tire after just one round in sparring and contributing to his first-round dominance but eventual loss to Corey Anderson. The former Bellator champion explained he would perform well in the first round of training but completely run out of energy by the second and third rounds, despite feeling normal during other conditioning work like runs and CrossFit. After consulting with his doctor and getting treatment in Thailand, Nemkov found an appropriate pharmaceutical solution that restored his health. He has since eliminated all sports supplements including creatine, protein, and BCAAs from his regimen due to the strain they place on kidneys, now only taking vitamins like omega-3, fish oil, magnesium, and vitamin B. Nemkov stated he hasn't noticed any decline in performance since removing supplements, emphasizing proper nutrition, sleep, and vitamins as the foundation.
