Vadim Nemkov has disclosed that he had kidney problems in 2022 which caused him to fatigue quickly in his first fight against Corey Anderson and during training camp. He would perform well in the first round of sparring but would run out of energy in subsequent rounds. After consulting with his doctor and undergoing tests, they identified the issue and found an appropriate legal medication. Nemkov has since completely eliminated sports supplements from his diet, including creatine, protein, and BCAAs, due to the strain they place on his kidneys. He stated he has not felt worse without these supplements and now only takes vitamins including omega, fish oil, magnesium, and vitamin B. The kidney issues were linked to large weight cuts throughout his career.
