Vadim Nemkov believes Alexander Ovechkin is currently more recognizable in America than Khabib Nurmagomedov. In an interview with Ushatayka, Nemkov explained that many American children play hockey from a young age and all young hockey players know who Ovechkin is. He noted Ovechkin gained major fame after breaking Wayne Gretzky's record and continues to set records while staying in the spotlight. Nemkov suggested Khabib is no longer as well-known, doesn't generate as much buzz, and doesn't appear in the news as frequently. The comments compare the current American profiles of Russia's two most prominent sports figures.
