Kaliningrad boxer Sergey Gorokhov and his team were attacked by a crowd in the ring in Turkey after Gorokhov knocked out local fighter Emirhan Kalkan in the second round. The incident escalated when Gorokhov celebrated his victory, prompting a confrontation with someone from Kalkan's corner. After Gorokhov's cornerman Ismael pushed the man, a mob rushed the ring and attacked Gorokhov and his team. Two cornermen were hospitalized and the team immediately drove from Trabzon to Georgia, removing Russian license plates from their vehicle for safety. Gorokhov had knocked Kalkan down in the first round before finishing him in the second.
