Russian boxer Sergey Gorokhov was attacked by a crowd in the ring in Turkey after knocking out local fighter Emirhan Kalkan in the second round. Gorokhov, who entered the fight with a 16-11-2 record, had also scored a knockdown in the first round against the previously undefeated Kalkan (7-0). After celebrating his victory, Gorokhov was confronted by a man in civilian clothes, believed to be affiliated with Kalkan, which led to a physical altercation when Gorokhov's cornerman pushed the man. A mob then rushed the ring and assaulted Gorokhov and his team, sending two cornermen to the hospital. Following treatment, the team immediately drove from Trabzon to Georgia, removing their Russian license plates for safety, and successfully reached Georgian territory.
