Chimaev dismisses Strickland gun threats, recalls past sparring

Hamzat Chimaev stated he doesn't believe Sean Strickland would actually pull a gun if a brawl broke out between them, saying if Strickland really wanted a street fight he'd already be dead. When asked about past sparring sessions with Strickland, Chimaev claimed Strickland couldn't do anything against him even when Chimaev fought at 77kg, and that he beat him then. Chimaev referenced the large Muslim community in New Jersey and suggested Strickland would face serious consequences if he brought a weapon, saying either many people would end up in jail or Strickland would die. He also made comments referring to Strickland as food, using derogatory language.
