Mike Tyson reflected on the terrible food he ate during his three years in prison, describing it as pure sugar and processed chemicals. Speaking on Robert Kennedy Jr.'s podcast, Tyson explained that the Federal Prison System spends approximately 60 cents per day on inmate meals, resulting in unhealthy options like donuts, chips, and oversalted soup with no healthy alternatives. Tyson believes this poor diet makes prisoners more aggressive and violent, causing them to attack each other over minor provocations. Kennedy cited research showing that improving prison food quality reduces violence by 50% and disciplinary incidents in juvenile facilities by 70%. Tyson credited his mentor Cus D'Amato with teaching him proper nutrition and discussed his current diet, which focuses on eggs, cheese, and seafood, which he considers the best fat-burning food.
