His opponent Higo, a 36-year-old Brazilian veteran at 23-7, operates at a lower volume but connects at a 59.81 percent clip, making for a technically cautious matchup that the judges ultimately split.
Elsewhere on the card, Simeon Powell stopped Emiliano Sordi by third-round TKO, and Rasul Magomedov swept all three scorecards 30-27 in a unanimous decision over Rafael Xavier.
