Lightweight contender Mateusz Gamrot has shared his perspective that Poland is cleaner, safer, and in many ways more modern than the United States. Speaking on the WojewódzkiKędzierski podcast, Gamrot explained that the more he travels, the more he appreciates his home country. He cited examples such as portable payment terminals being standard in Poland a decade before becoming common in American restaurants. Gamrot also criticized Americans for being less hospitable, noting experiences where he was invited to barbecues but expected to bring his own food, contrasting with Polish culture where guests are always fed. He described American social interactions as superficial, noting the automatic "How are you? Fine, bye" exchanges without genuine interest. While acknowledging that the U.S. offers advantages for sports careers, Gamrot emphasized that life quality is not necessarily better there, and that even his children prefer being home in Poland despite Florida's beaches and palm trees.
