UFC lightweight Mateusz Gamrot has stated in a podcast interview that Poland is cleaner, safer, more hospitable, and in many ways more modern than the United States. Gamrot cited examples including his surprise that portable payment terminals were only recently introduced in American restaurants, something Poland had implemented a decade earlier. He criticized American hospitality, describing social interactions as superficial and recounting instances where he was invited to barbecues but had to bring his own food or go hungry. Gamrot noted that while the U.S. offers advantages for sports careers, daily life is not necessarily better, and even his children prefer being in Poland despite Florida's beaches and palm trees. He emphasized that Poland's familiarity makes solving everyday problems faster and easier than navigating life as an outsider in America.
