Polish UFC lightweight Mateusz Gamrot stated that Poland is cleaner, safer, more hospitable, and in many ways more modern than the United States. Speaking on the "WojewódzkiKędzierski" podcast, Gamrot criticized American hospitality customs, noting he was invited to barbecues where no food was provided unless he brought his own. He described American social interactions as superficial, citing the automatic "How are you?" greeting without genuine interest in the response. Gamrot also pointed out that Poland had portable payment terminals in restaurants about a decade before they became standard in the US. Despite acknowledging advantages for sports careers in America, he emphasized that quality of life is not necessarily better there, noting even his children preferred returning to Poland from Florida vacations.
