Mateusz Gamrot stated in a podcast interview that Poland is cleaner, safer, more hospitable, and in many ways more modern than the United States. The UFC lightweight detailed his experiences in America, including instances where restaurants lacked portable payment terminals years after they were standard in Poland, and described social interactions as superficial. Gamrot recounted being invited to barbecues where he would have gone hungry had he not brought his own food, contrasting this with Polish hospitality. He noted that while the US offers advantages for sports careers, daily life is not necessarily better, and even his children preferred returning home to Poland despite being in Florida with beaches and palm trees. The fighter emphasized that navigating bureaucracy and daily tasks is much easier at home where he knows all the shortcuts.
