Polish lightweight Mateusz Gamrot expressed that Poland is cleaner, safer, more hospitable, and in many ways more modern than the United States, based on his extensive travel experience. Gamrot cited examples such as contactless payment technology being commonplace in Poland a decade before American restaurants adopted it. He criticized American hospitality, recalling being invited to barbecues twice where he would have gone hungry without bringing his own food, contrasting this with Polish generosity. Gamrot described American social interactions as superficial, noting people expect scripted responses to "How are you?" and become confused by genuine answers. While acknowledging the USA offers career advantages for sports, he emphasized that quality of life is not necessarily better there, and even his children preferred returning home to Poland despite being in Florida surrounded by beaches and palm trees.
