The fight statistics website Tapology has implemented a new feature displaying opponent quality levels for UFC fighters on a scale of 1 to 99. The rating is calculated using a special formula based on a fighter's last six UFC bouts, excluding fights in other organizations. For UFC 328, Sean Strickland leads with a rating of 74, followed by Hamzat Chimaev at 69 and Alexander Volkov at 67. The lowest ratings on the card belong to Baisangur Susurkayev and Ozzie Diaz, both at 4.
Fight statistics platform Tapology has rolled out a new opponent quality rating system for UFC fighters, assigning each competitor a score on a scale of 1 to 99 based on the caliber of opposition they have faced inside the Octagon. The feature launched ahead of UFC 328, scheduled for May 9, 2026.

The rating is generated through a proprietary formula that draws exclusively from a fighter's last six UFC bouts, meaning contests in other promotions are not factored into the calculation. The system is designed to give fans and analysts a clearer picture of how meaningful a fighter's record is relative to the competition they have actually faced at the UFC level.

Among the UFC 328 roster, middleweight champion Sean Strickland holds the highest opponent quality rating on the card at 74. The 35-year-old American, who trains out of Xtreme Couture, carries a 31-7-0 record and ranks among the busiest strikers in his division, landing 6.04 significant strikes per minute with a 76-inch reach. His sustained activity against top-tier opposition appears to have driven his score to the top of the card.

Heavyweight contender Alexander Volkov comes in second among notable fighters at 67. The 37-year-old Russian, ranked number one in the heavyweight division, stands six-foot-seven with an 80-inch reach and posts a striking accuracy of 57 percent across a 40-11-0 professional record.

Hamzat Chimaev sits between the two at 69, slotting in ahead of Volkov in the ratings.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, Baisangur Susurkayev and Ozzie Diaz both received scores of 4, reflecting far shorter or less tested UFC résumés under the formula.

Why it matters
- The metric adds a layer of résumé context beyond raw win-loss records for UFC fighters.
- Scores are UFC-only, meaning crossover records from other promotions have no bearing on the rating.
- Champions and long-tenured veterans like Strickland and Volkov benefit most, while newer or lightly tested UFC fighters rank at the lower end.
