UFC lightweight Mateusz Gamrot stated in a podcast interview that Poland is cleaner, safer, more hospitable, and in many ways more modern than the United States. Gamrot cited examples including Poland having portable payment terminals a decade before many U.S. restaurants, and criticized American hospitality customs where guests are expected to bring their own food to barbecues. He described American social interactions as superficial, noting people don't genuinely engage when asking "how are you?" Gamrot acknowledged the U.S. offers advantages for sports careers but emphasized that quality of life is not necessarily better there. He mentioned that even his children, while on a Florida beach, expressed a desire to return home to Poland to see their grandmother.
