After returning to his hotel around 2:30 AM on Sunday morning, he spent the early hours with fellow countrymen in prayer rather than resting. Van checked out of his hotel at 5:30 AM and upon returning home, met with members of his church congregation for more prayers. He emphasized the spiritual significance of his victory, stating it was a continuous series of prayers and expressions of gratitude to God. Van also mentioned he had not yet checked social media extensively following his win.
