A controversial ending marred the PFL Brussels debut of former GLORY kickboxing champion Donegi Abena against 42-year-old Joe Schilling. During ground fighting, Abena struck Schilling with a headbutt that appeared relatively minor. However, Schilling immediately jumped up and began cursing at Abena, prompting the referee to deduct a point. When the referee attempted to resume the bout, Schilling refused to continue fighting and made it clear he was done. The official result recorded Abena winning by TKO at 37 seconds. The finish sparked criticism that Schilling, brought in as an opponent expected to lose, found an easy way to collect payment without taking further damage.
