Yuza Kereselidze, grandfather of Ilia and Alexander Topuria, shared memories of raising the brothers when they moved from Germany to live with him in Rustavi, Georgia. He described how five-year-old Ilia would ride a bicycle 20-30 kilometers daily without tiring, showing an attacking mentality even then. The grandfather recalled that Alexander would steal soda for other neighborhood children who couldn't climb the fence, while Ilia remained quiet when scolded but was always determined to complete any task he started. When Ilia won the championship belt, Kereselidze hosted a celebration in Rustavi and invited every passerby to toast his grandson.
