18-year-old Demid Volkov wins Russian MMA championship in middleweight

Demid Volkov became the youngest Russian combat sambo champion in the 88 kg category at age 18 in March. The St. Petersburg prospect trains under Alexander Korshunov and spars with Denis Goltsov, Mokhatkin, and Khadis Ibragimov. Volkov defeated Platon Lebedev in the junior MMA championship final through clinch work, takedowns from standing, and ground control.
