UFC title fight data shows shorter fighters hold edge over taller opponents

An analysis of all UFC title bouts where one fighter held a 10-centimeter or greater height advantage shows shorter fighters winning 31 to 29 overall, with a more pronounced 20-9 edge in lighter weight classes. Among strikers in lighter divisions the margin is 12-7 in favor of the shorter fighter. Ilia Topuria currently holds a 2-0 record in title fights against opponents who are at least 10 centimeters taller, and could extend that to 3-0 against Justin Gaethje.
