This is not the first time a reigning UFC champion has been omitted from the P4P list — Jan Blachowicz was left out for two and a half months after winning the light heavyweight title in September 2020, and Dominic Cruz was removed due to inactivity in 2013 before eventually being stripped of the bantamweight title.
