Quick read
UFC has introduced a new algorithmic rankings system that replaces the previous media voting panel of 22 outlets. Under the new model, wins and the quality of opposition account for 95% of a fighter's ranking, with finishing bonuses, activity boosts, and an inactivity penalty kicking in after 18 months without a fight. Wins lose value after five years and become fully obsolete after ten, while there will be no pound-for-pound rankings. Notable early changes include Pat Sabatini and Nathaniel Wood entering the featherweight top ten, Navajo Stirling sitting 12th at light heavyweight, and Devin de la Puerta dropping from 8th to 15th in his division.
