Quick read
UFC has introduced a new algorithmic rankings system that replaces the previous media-voting model. Wins and the quality of opposition now determine 95% of a fighter's ranking, with early finishes providing a small bonus boost and no bonus given for decision victories. Fighters face inactivity penalties after 18 months without a bout, win values decay over five and ten years, and there will no longer be a pound-for-pound ranking. Notable shifts under the new system include Pat Sabatini and Nathaniel Wood entering the featherweight top ten, Navajo Stirling ranked 12th at light heavyweight, and Reinier de Riddler dropping from eighth to 15th in his division.
