Nick Newell has reflected on his 2014 WSOF title fight against Justin Gaethje, which Gaethje won by TKO. Newell described Gaethje as virtually unstoppable, saying the only way to halt him is a clean knockout, and that his power, output, and pressure never diminished even as he visibly tired during their bout. Newell added that Gaethje is one of only two fighters he has observed who maintain the same intensity regardless of fatigue, the other being Dricus Du Plessis.
