UFC fighter Shara Bullet has disclosed that he contracted dengue fever during a training camp in Thailand ahead of his fight against Barrio, spending roughly two weeks bedridden with a 40°C fever, skin sores, and hair loss. He flew to Abu Dhabi in a severely weakened state and still managed to win the bout. Immediately after the fight he underwent emergency surgery and spent two sleepless days in recovery before being unable to breathe properly for another two weeks.
