The 28-year-old Irishman enters the arrangement as one of the welterweight division's most prominent figures, currently ranked first in the 170-pound rankings and carrying a 17-1-0 professional record. Known by his nickname "The Future," the six-foot-three orthodox striker lands 4.78 significant strikes per minute at a 54 percent accuracy rate, and he is set to headline UFC 330 against Islam Makhachev in what represents the defining fight of his career to date.
Matchroom already has a foothold inside the UFC roster through a separate deal with heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, though the structure of that arrangement differs from the terms Garry has agreed to. Aspinall, 33, holds a 15-3-0 record and currently sits at number six in the pound-for-pound rankings.
