Shara Bullet has revealed that he contracted dengue fever while training in Thailand ahead of his fight against Barrio, spending roughly two weeks bedridden with a 40°C fever, skin sores, and hair loss. He returned to training prematurely, relapsed, and flew to Abu Dhabi in a weakened state before competing. Despite the illness, he won the bout, only to undergo surgery immediately afterward and spend two more days unable to sleep as his body remained in a heightened state of alertness.
