Shara Bullet has detailed an extraordinarily difficult period surrounding his fight with Barrio, during which he contracted dengue fever while training in Thailand and spent roughly two weeks bedridden with a 40°C fever, skin sores, and hair loss. He travelled to Abu Dhabi still weakened and managed to win the fight, only to find himself on the operating table within days of the contest. Bullet says he spent two days unable to sleep after the surgery, his body stuck in a heightened state before he eventually spent two weeks struggling to breathe during recovery.
