Shara Bullet disclosed that he contracted dengue fever during training camp in Thailand ahead of his fight with Barrio, spending roughly two weeks bedridden with a 40-degree fever, skin sores, and hair loss. He flew to Abu Dhabi still weakened and managed to win the bout despite his condition. Immediately after the fight he underwent surgery and spent two sleepless days recovering, also experiencing two weeks of breathing difficulties before fully recovering.
