An injury to Khalil Rountree Jr. has forced a reshuffling of two UFC cards, with Bogdan Guskov stepping in to face Magomed Ankalaev in the main event of UFC Abu Dhabi on July 13. The change ripples directly into the UFC Belgrade card, where Guskov had been booked to meet Jan Blachowicz — that bout's status is now uncertain.

Rountree Jr., 36, entered the Abu Dhabi card ranked seventh in the light heavyweight division with a professional record of 15-7-0. The southpaw out of the 185-centimeter frame carries a 76-inch reach and generates nearly four significant strikes per minute, though his game is almost entirely striker-based, recording zero takedowns per fifteen minutes across his career.

Stepping into the main event on short notice is Guskov, who takes on the division's No. 1-ranked contender in Magomed Ankalaev. The 34-year-old Russian holds a record of 21-2-1 and is also ranked fifth pound-for-pound. Standing six-foot-three with a 191-centimeter reach, Ankalaev is one of the more complete fighters in the division, connecting on 52 percent of his significant strikes while also averaging 0.79 takedowns per fifteen minutes.

The scheduling casualty of this reshuffle is the Blachowicz side of the equation. The 43-year-old Polish veteran, ranked fifth at light heavyweight with a 29-11-2 record, now finds his Belgrade appearance in limbo. Blachowicz holds a 78-inch reach, posts a striking accuracy of 49 percent, and adds a takedown threat at just over one per fifteen minutes.

Why it matters

  • Ankalaev's main-event spot keeps him in the title picture; the opponent swap could affect how a potential title shot is evaluated.
  • Blachowicz's Belgrade booking is unresolved, leaving a ranked light heavyweight without a confirmed fight.
  • Rountree Jr.'s injury removes a streaking top-ten fighter from the divisional calendar entirely.
