Light heavyweight Johnny Walker has disclosed his intention to transition to the heavyweight division. Walker cited his training experience with former champion Francis Ngannou as evidence he can compete at the heavier weight, noting that even while dieting with approximately a 20kg weight disadvantage, he was able to spar comfortably with Ngannou. Walker explained that he would feel much better at heavyweight because his current weight cuts prevent him from training properly, causing dizziness and low energy due to insufficient carbohydrate intake. He believes competing without the demands of a strict diet would significantly improve his performance. No timeline was given for the potential move.
