Light heavyweight Johnny Walker has announced his intention to transition to the heavyweight division. Walker cited his past training and sparring experience with Francis Ngannou as evidence he can compete at the higher weight class. Despite being approximately 20 kg lighter while on a diet, Walker said he felt comfortable working with Ngannou. He explained that he would feel much better at heavyweight because his current diet leaves him unable to train properly, experiencing dizziness and low energy due to insufficient carbohydrates. Walker believes the move up in weight would allow him to perform at his best without the constraints of cutting weight.
