Light heavyweight contender Johnny Walker revealed his intentions to transition to the heavyweight division. Walker explained that he has trained and sparred with Francis Ngannou, and even while on a diet with approximately 20 kg difference in weight, he worked comfortably with the former champion. Walker believes he would feel much better at heavyweight because his current diet prevents him from training properly. He cited experiencing dizziness and low energy due to lack of carbohydrates during weight cuts for the light heavyweight division. The move would represent a significant shift in Walker's UFC career as he seeks to compete at a more natural weight class.
