Meng Bo punched her ticket to the Road to UFC Season 5 final with a hard-fought split-decision victory, advancing on home soil during the latest night of RTU5 action streaming live on UFC Fight Pass.
The win was not without controversy — a split decision always signals a close, contested fight — but Meng Bo did enough to convince the majority of the judges and move one step closer to a UFC contract.
Why it matters
- A spot in the Road to UFC final puts Meng Bo within one win of earning a UFC deal, the ultimate prize the tournament offers.
- Winning on home soil adds an extra layer of significance, with crowd support potentially playing a role in what was clearly a competitive outing.
- The Road to UFC continues to serve as one of the premier pathways for Asian talent to break into the world's top MMA promotion, and a finalist berth carries real divisional weight heading into the conclusion of Season 5.
The Road to UFC has consistently produced fighters who go on to compete at the highest level, and Meng Bo will now prepare for the final with momentum behind her despite the narrow margin of Friday's result. Her opponent in the final has yet to be determined as the tournament rounds continue on UFC Fight Pass.
