Roberto Solić has signed with the UFC following six months of talks after his departure from ONE Championship. Solić explained that his ONE contract expired and that difficulty finding opponents there was a key factor in his decision to move on.
Roberto Solić has officially joined the UFC roster, ending a six-month negotiation process that followed his departure from ONE Championship.
The Croatian fighter's path to the UFC was not a swift one. Solić revealed that his ONE Championship contract had run its course, and that a persistent struggle to find suitable opponents within that organization played a central role in his decision to seek a new home. After half a year of discussions, a deal with the UFC was eventually reached.
Why it matters
- Solić brings experience from ONE Championship, one of the world's premier MMA promotions, adding competitive depth to whichever UFC division he enters.
- His signing reflects a broader pattern of established fighters crossing between major organizations as contracts expire and new opportunities emerge.
- Difficulty securing fights — regardless of the promotion — can stall a career, and the move to the UFC gives Solić access to a wider and more active pool of opponents.
No details regarding Solić's divisional placement, debut opponent, or scheduled date have been confirmed at this stage.
