Walker, a 34-year-old Brazilian who trains out of SBG Ireland, moves to 23-10-0. He came in with a clear power pedigree: the knockout was his second in as many recorded outings, following a first-round stoppage of Mick Parkin on October 3 at UFC 332. Before that, he lost a split decision to Dominick Reyes in April. Walker lands 3.98 significant strikes per minute at 55 percent accuracy, and his six-foot-six frame comes with an 82-inch reach.

Cortes-Acosta, 35, entered at 17-4-0 and ranked sixth at heavyweight. The American, nicknamed Salsa Boy, out-lands most opponents on volume, averaging 5.03 significant strikes per minute, though his accuracy sits at 47 percent. The loss extends a rough stretch: he dropped unanimous decisions to Curtis Blaydes on September 12 and Alexander Volkov on May 9, and now has three straight losses after his second-round knockout of Derrick Lewis in January.

Why it matters

  • Walker's finish came against a ranked opponent on short notice, and it marks a second straight knockout win.
  • Cortes-Acosta has now lost three consecutive fights, all since his January win over Lewis, which could shake his standing in the top ten.
  • The numbers show a classic contrast: Cortes-Acosta throws more volume, while Walker is the more accurate striker and holds a five-inch reach edge (82 inches to 78) and a two-inch height advantage.

The late stoppage will likely draw some discussion given the extra shots after Herzog stepped in, but the result stands as a knockout win for Walker.
