Roberto Soldić has been pulled from UFC 336 and is now set to compete at UFC Dallas, a change that leaves the status of a previously touted welterweight matchup with Daniel Rodriguez uncertain.

It is unclear whether Rodriguez will still share the cage with Soldić at the new event or be handed a different opponent. That uncertainty comes despite Rodriguez himself publicly posting the matchup, which had appeared to be set for the UFC 336 card.

Rodriguez, a 39-year-old southpaw from the United States, enters the picture with a 20-6-0 record and sits at number 14 in the welterweight rankings. He trains out of 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu and stands six-foot-one with a 74-inch reach. His numbers point to a volume striker: he lands 7.2 significant strikes per minute at 49 percent accuracy, while attempting just 0.51 takedowns and 0.1 submissions per 15 minutes.

His recent form has taken a hit. Rodriguez's most recent recorded fight was a first-round KO/TKO loss to Uros Medic on August 1, 2026. Before that, he had won two straight, beating Kevin Holland by unanimous decision at UFC 318 in July 2025 and finishing Santiago Ponzinibbio by third-round KO/TKO two months earlier in May 2025.

Why it matters

  • Rodriguez is looking to rebound from a first-round stoppage and would benefit from a quick return to the cage.
  • A ranked welterweight in the number 14 slot has a clear incentive to secure a meaningful opponent at the Dallas event.
  • With the matchup's status unresolved, Rodriguez's own public posting of the fight adds to the confusion over what comes next.

The shift of Soldić to UFC Dallas means any fight involving him and Rodriguez would have to be rebuilt around the new date and location. Until the promotion clarifies the card, Rodriguez's next assignment remains an open question. He turns 40 in the coming years and has fought three times in the span covered by his recent recorded bouts, so timing and activity are factors in how quickly he can be rebooked.

For now, the only firm detail is that Soldić is off UFC 336 and aimed at Dallas. Whether Rodriguez follows him there, or is paired with someone else, has not been settled.
