UFC has introduced a new fighter ranking system that replaces the previous media-panel voting model. Under the new methodology, wins and the quality of opposition determine 95 percent of a fighter's ranking, with finishing bonuses and activity boosts also factored in; statistical dominance carries no weight. Rankings will no longer include a pound-for-pound list, manual adjustments are prohibited, and inactivity penalties begin after 18 months without a bout. Notable early shifts under the system include Pat Sabatini and Nathaniel Wood entering the featherweight top ten, while Jiri Prochazka's ranking at light heavyweight slipped significantly.
