Carlos Ulberg knocked out Jiri Prochazka at 3:45 of the first round to claim the UFC light heavyweight championship in the main event of UFC 327 on April 11.

Prochazka, a 33-year-old Czech fighter out of Jetsaam Gym Brno, entered the contest ranked second in the division with a record of 32-6-1. Standing six-foot-three with an 80-inch reach, he is one of the most dynamic strikers in the division, averaging 5.69 significant strikes per minute at 55 percent accuracy. The finish denied him what would have been a title recapture.

Why it matters
- Ulberg's first-round finish dethrones one of the most dangerous strikers in light heavyweight history and reshuffles the top of the division
- Prochazka, ranked second entering the bout, will likely remain a contender but must rebuild toward another title shot
- Dominick Reyes's split decision win over Johnny Walker keeps the former title challenger, now 16-5 at age 36, active inside the top ten at rank eight
In the co-main event, Paulo Costa put on a vintage performance, stopping Azamat Murzakanov in the third round at 1:23. Costa, nicknamed The Eraser, improves to 16-4 and brings his aggressive forward pressure to every fight, leading all active middleweights with 6.26 significant strikes landed per minute at 58 percent accuracy. The 35-year-old Brazilian ranked thirteenth in the middleweight division heading in.

Josh Tuivasa earned a unanimous decision over Curtis Blaydes by scores of 29-28 across all three judges, with the heavyweight clash collecting Fight of the Night honors. Ulberg and Tuivasa both took home Performance of the Night bonuses.

Elsewhere on the main card, Cub Swanson stopped Nate Landwehr by TKO in the first round. The preliminary card saw Mateusz Gamrot submit Esteban Ribovics in the second round, Tatiana Suarez submit Lupita Godinez in the second round, and Kevin Holland outpoint Randy Brown by unanimous decision.
