The Czech fighter out of Jetsaam Gym Brno had been one of the division's most dangerous strikers, landing 5.69 significant strikes per minute at 55 percent accuracy, but Ulberg's finishing shot ended the night before those tools could fully take shape.

In the co-main event, Josh Hokit upset heavyweight Curtis Blaydes by unanimous decision, with all three judges scoring the bout 29-28. Hokit earned a Performance of the Night bonus for the effort, and the fight between the two was recognized as Fight of the Night.

Paulo Costa, ranked 13th in the middleweight division, delivered a third-round knockout of Azamat Murzakanov at 1:23 of the frame. The Brazilian known as The Eraser improved to 16-4-0 and once again demonstrated the heavy-handed pressure that makes him one of the division's most dangerous strikers, averaging 6.26 significant strikes per minute at 58 percent accuracy.

Mateusz Gamrot submitted Esteban Ribovics in the second round. Ribovics, a 30-year-old Argentine out of Kill Cliff FC, carried a 15-3-0 record into the fight and had shown elite striking volume at 8.09 significant strikes per minute, but was unable to avoid the finish. Tatiana Suarez also picked up a second-round submission victory over Lupita Godinez, and Aaron Pico defeated former Bellator champion Patricio Pitbull by unanimous decision.
